I believe in teaching my girls to acknowledge gifts and/or acts of kindness with thank you cards.
I agree, that when you have to write a ton, it can be tedious - but I frame it for them by saying, "shopping for that gift may have been tedious as well".
So, this past weekend I sat down to make a batch of thank you cards.
I have people that sent gifts when we got Lacey, and Chloë had her birthday last weekend, so it was time to show our gratitude.
I just wanted to make little 3"x 3" cards.
Cut your cardstock at 2 7/8" (width).
Folded in half this will give you an approximately 3" by 3" card - while still leaving room to fit it into an envelope.
I love embossing.
It's so easy, and so elegant.
Once you try it, you won't be able to stop.
Stamp your image onto the cardstock with Versamark and then use detail gold embossing powder.
UNTIL…..
You bring out the "big guns" - or heat gun in this case.
Wave the heat gun over the embossing powder and watch as it melts into a shiny gold.
I added a "Thanks" as well.
Easy, elegant, effective!
For a little extra zing - you could hold the cards together tightly and then mark the edges with a gold marker.
It ends up looking like you had your cards gilded.
A really nice touch.
If you need any supplies to make your own, get in touch with Margaret here and she can hook you up!
Have a great one!
I do love assembly line card making.
