DIY - Candy Ornaments

Today's post is brought to you by a guest contributor;

Jennifer Potts
Mom, Wife, Teacher & Crafter Extraordinaire!

Chloƫ came home from a playdate last weekend with this:
Isn't it gorgeous?!

It's made from candy!

I had to get in touch with Jen to see if she could hook me up with the instructions on how to make more.

She did better than that - she sent me instructions and photos so I could share with you!

Jen's instructions;
It's super-easy.  Good for all ages.
1. Buy "jingle bell rock" candy and small aluminum pie plates (tart plates?) from bulk barn.

2. Assemble candies (not touching - to leave space for melting)

3. Put in 300F oven for about 5 mins. You have to watch very carefully or they will melt into the middle, not leaving a hole in the wreath (see pic).

Jen calls this the "What not to do" but I like it almost as much as the other one!

4. Let it cool. It should easily come out of the pie plate.

5. Attach a ribbon and maybe a tag (when I did it with my grade 3 class I printed "joyfully made by ......" tags for them and we sold them at our school's annual sale).

6. They can be hung in a window by just using a small hook or contact strip.

Note:  my class named them "Fragile Festive Wreaths" because they break very easily  - however they are inexpensive and easy to make - so I suggest making at least two per crafter to allow for breakage.

Jen - thanks so much for sharing!

Have a great one!
