Online Yoga? Yes, you can do yoga RIGHT NOW!

I will tell you upfront that this is a sponsored post...

BUT


I had heard about Active Spirit Yoga and actually started taking the classes BEFORE I begged Helena to let me share it with all of you on the blog.


Truthfully.


This idea is phenomenal!


Helena offers one-on-one, and group yoga classes either in your home or at her studio.  She has a set schedule of classes for you to choose from, or she can work within your time constraints and come to you.
(That's not the phenomenal part - or it is, but it's not what blew my gaskets)


Helena offers ONLINE YOGA CLASSES!


Not videotaped classes that you playback and really have no idea if you're doing it right or wrong.

Interactive online classes where she can see you and you can see her!




This is me getting ready for my class - Helena has the centre of the screen for teaching and I'm in the bottom left corner so she can see and interact with me.

You can ask questions, she can help you fix your poses or adjust your workout to your capabilities, you can even see your online classmates if you want - all from home!


I've been doing Helena's "Gentle Wake-up Therapeutic Yoga"; it's 50 minutes long and involves long, deep stretching - which is exactly what I need after sanding a dresser and then sitting at a computer to tell you about it.




There are more intensive classes as well, but this one is my pace... I'll work my way up.

Helena even has a freebie that she's allowing me to share on the blog today that you can try out - this one isn't interactive, but it does give you an idea of her programs.

Let's think about this - you get up in the morning, brush your teeth, comb out your bed-head as best you can, hop in your freezing cold car and make your way to the gym.  While there, you twist and turn yourself into spectacular poses, all the while hoping your @$$ isn't too much on display.
On your way home, you stop by Timmies for a double-double and the smell of the apple fritters lures you in.


Not an effective or efficient workout right?


Now think about this - you get up, turn on your computer, adjust the volume and greet your online friends.  Helena walks you through the deep stretches that are going to keep you from seizing up today - all-the-while in your pyjamas with no one around you to notice your ever-expanding backyard or that you have dog breath.


Another scenario - you are stuck at the office and only have a brief window to sneak in a lunch.  You click over to your online class and workout right from your office/cubicle.


You're on the road for work, or vacation... will you have to miss your favourite yoga class this week?  Not if you're working out with Helena!  Bring out the old laptop and do it in your hotel room.

Ooooooh!  This one's my favourite - you live in the sunny south so you get out your laptop and take it to the backyard with your yoga mat in-hand.  You spread out in the sunshine and workout in the fresh air.


NO!  Better yet!  You have friends that have moved all over the place that you miss.  You tell them about this amazing class and each week you sign in from wherever you are and take it TOGETHER!  A few giggles, a great workout and some girl-time in one!


Why isn't everyone doing this class?


Seriously.


Aaaaah, you're thinking it costs a bazillion dollars right?
Nope!


$98 Cdn for 10 classes that can be taken anytime within 90 days of registering.  That's CHEAPER than the gym and you don't even have to leave your house!




Let's think about this some more... you have, or are, an aging parent - perhaps in a retirement residence, perhaps at home - but heading out to the gym neither appeals nor is it a reality for you.  How about a gentle stretch right at home (pending your physician's approval of course).

You are a stay-at-home Mom and the thought of lugging your little ones kicking and screaming to a class puts you in a cold sweat.  Workout in your living room and they can join in the fun!  Or workout while they are napping and you don't even have to pay a babysitter!


HEY! - make it a Mommy group and all of you log on at the same time and take it together!

You are working out, SUPERVISED (this isn't a video playing - she is leading and correcting your stances) from home - with your friends, in the yard, with your kids or while they're napping, at the nursing home with your parents... etc, etc.


UNBELIEVABLE!


All you need is a desktop or laptop computer, a webcam (which most have built-in anymore) and a wifi signal!

This is available ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.  Workout with your friends in Buenos Aires or Reykjavik.  Aussie's; the scheduling might be difficult to coordinate with North America - but contact Helena and see what programs she offers that will work within your daylight hours...
