Easy Chocolate Fudge

I don't know what put this in my mind, but I've been thinking about fudge lately.

Call it hormones, sugar sensitivity or a chocolate addiction, but I've wanted fudge.

I've never made fudge, in fact, I've only ever eaten it a handful of times in my life at fairs or flea markets - so I didn't know what was involved in the making of it.

I found a recipe that said "chocolate", "fudge" and "3.5 minutes" and I was sold!
Talk about instant gratification!

You will need:

  • 3 cups chocolate (I used semi-sweet chipits)
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup butter

In a microwave-safe container, melt the butter.

Add in the chocolate chipits and condensed milk and stir.

Microwave on high for 40 seconds.

Stir.
If it's not completely melted and smooth, microwave for another 40 seconds.

Line an 8 x 8" dish with tin foil and lightly butter the foil.
(This will make it so the fudge is easy to remove and cut after it's hardened.)

I opted to add some chopped pecans to the top of half.  Add them into the entire mixture if you like - I just know I have two here that won't eat nuts at all.

Refrigerate.

Once cooled, remove from dish and use a pizza wheel to cut into small squares.

Warning:  this is SWEET!

Scrumptious and delicious and very chocolatey.

If you don't like dark chocolate, opt for milk chocolate chipits instead - or go the extra mile and buy quality chocolates like Girardelli to blow this through the roof.

You could add dried cranberries and nuts, or crushed candy canes at Christmas.  At less than 3 minutes, you could make this anytime and for any occasion!

This recipe/post is for you Lovely Lisa!

Have a great one!
