I'm a die-hard fan of this event - both because it's a fantastic charity, and because the homes they decorate for the Holidays are SPECTACULAR.
My favourite part is all of the greenery they incorporate.
The arrangements are absolutely stunning but considerably out of my price range.
One commonality that all of the homes have is that they use paperwhites and amaryllis in the holiday decor.

That I can manage.
But it requires pre-planning as the bulbs take 6-8 weeks to bloom.
I'm here to nag you today...
If you want gorgeous Christmas blooms, you need to plant them now.
As in today.
I picked up these kits at Lowe's for $7.98 each.

As December rolls in, I'll put them into pretty pots and decorate with ribbons.
What's even better is that you can prune these back after they have bloomed, store them in a cool dark place and replant them next year (at this time).
Quick! Go get yours and get planting!
Have a great one!
