DIY Balloon Flowers

We held Chloë's 6th Birthday Party this past weekend, so last week's agenda consisted of a lot of planning and decorating.

Chloë wanted to have a "Monster High - 13 Wishes" party.
Which - for how much I hear about Monster High - I thought there would be an abundance of decorations to choose from.

Not so much.

I was able to purchase napkins and a table cloth and the rest I had to come up with on my own.

That's okay -  it gives me something to blog about.

First up - Balloon Flowers.

I needed them in the traditional Monster High colours of black white and pink.

Now,I trial-and-errored a couple of versions of this.

The larger balloons in the back (the pink and the black) are "Three-lung-fulls".

This just means I used three full lung-fulls of air to determine a petal size - so that all the petals would be the same.

The centre balloons were 1-lung-full.
The front flowers are "Two-lung-fulls" for the petal size and about a half a lung-full for the centres.

I liked the big ones, but they were a bit harder to get to stay flat.

In fact, I ended up using glue dots to try to get them to stay in line.

I hung a few in my foyer:
And mission: Decoration was off!

This one's for your Pinterest board:  (I like when it's all in one pin)

Have a great one!

    1. And if you don't know the sex of the baby yet you could do them in pale purples and greens! It would be gorgeous!
