A love story...

It's not fancy, it's not expensive, it's not even considered feminine - but I LOVE my car.

I love the grill; the definitive Jeep eyes and smile that you can recognize a mile away.

I love the camaraderie between jeep owners in the annual Jeep Jamborees (which I will admit I have never been to, but have been invited to)
and the "Jeep Wave".... the casual two finger lift off of the steering wheel to acknowledge the coolness of another oncoming jeep.

I love that you can have the roof up or down, windows in or out, doors on or off - and if you're really wild - windshield up or down.

I love that it doesn't need snow tires and I can get through whatever a Canadian winter throws at me.

I love that if you hit me - you'll know it - this bad boy is solid steel.

But what I love the most....

is the feeling of being young and wild whenever I get in it.

I love remembering a car full of friends, with the music cranked and driving to the beach to see if we could pack any more in.

You see, I had a jeep when I was 20.

I also had a waist and boobs that didn't droop all the way down to it.

My brain has stayed at age 20 and getting back behind the wheel reinforces my delusion.

I like that.

Who says being delusional is necessarily bad?
I guess maybe the young stud in the jeep next to me when he sees me roll up and notices that there's no waist and boobs tucked under my belt. lol

My 20-year-old Jeep was "Max".
I washed him every week.  I shampooed the engine.
I waxed on and off.

Now that I'm a Mom, I haven't treated my 40-year-old Jeep, "Red Rocket" (as named by my children), with the same love.  She's a 2012 and hasn't had her engine shampooed once.

My precious was looking neglected.

Yesterday I tackled my "100 Things 2 Do" list and detailed my baby.

I used a swirl remover with polish in it and then topped that off with a carnauba wax.

What does that mean?

I have no idea, but the guy at Canadian Tire sounded convincing.

The before and after look pretty convincing, but I have to be honest and say that the sunlight probably played a big part.

So if you see a middle-aged woman out driving in a car that's probably too young for her - smile, give her the "Jeep wave" and remember your first love.
and that's about the only thing I fit in from high school haha

Have a great one!

  3. Who wants something fancy, expensive, and feminine, when you can drive a car that will give you the Tomb Raider feel? Haha! Not that I have something against those luxurious cars. In fact, I think they’re perfect ride for corporate dinners, meeting or any special occasions. But for something to drive on and off-road on regular basis, I think the jeep is the perfect option.
