Number 18 - Do an Obstacle Race

I am not fit.
I am not thin.
I have no willpower.

I was fit once... and thin... but I've never had any willpower.

SO - I decided that if I wanted to look like Jennifer Aniston, I'd better get my rear in gear.
The Doritos-iPad diet-exercise plan just isn't cutting it.

But I need a goal.  I need something to work towards or else I'll just keep saying "I'll get to it tomorrow".

My hubby has been training for well over a year now and has completed not one, but two Tough Mudder races.  For those that haven't heard - these races are obstacle/military type - and the feats in each are INSANE.  I mean, who actually pays to be electrocuted?

Hubby does.

There are numerous versions of the Tough Mudder out there.  Most for charity, and all gaining in popularity... so I set a goal.

I'm going to get my 40-year-old, overweight, under-exercised butt through one of these races!

The one I'm attempting:

(hubby says this was the easiest of the obstacle races he ran last year).

I've got my girls with me - further pressure to actually get to the gym and work out - and team

"WTF?! - Where's the Finish"

is registered!

 Game's on!

Here's the video if you'd like more information on the race, or click Jesse's Journey to donate to this worthy cause.

Jesse's Journey is a partnership of researchers and families dedicated to funding research in to Duchenne muscular dystrophy.   Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a fatal genetic disorder that gradually weakens the body's muscles.  There are different types of muscular dystrophy: Duchenne is both the most common and the most severe form of the disease, affecting 1 in every 3,500 boys. Because the Duchenne gene is found on the X-chromosome, it primarily affects boys and it can occur in all races and cultures.
