Madison's Room

My girls are growing up…. despite all my begging and pleading for them not to.

So even though I loved this bedroom:

Madison was ready to go "Tween" on me.

I let her choose which colour she wanted her new room to be - and of course she went with Benjamin Moore's Peony (aka HOT pink).

I'm willing to give in so much, but an entire room in hot pink would have been obnoxious (my apologies to anyone that does have a hot pink room).

We met in the middle and I agreed to do two walls in her colour, if she would let me do two walls (the bigger ones) in a paler version.

We were also given a bunk bed (great for sleepovers), so my corner headboard had to be removed to make room for it.

She uses the top bunk as a lounge area for reading or using her iPad.
Fortunately these sheets from Pottery Barn will go with just about any decor.
This pink jut-out houses her amazing closet.

The desk below was my Dad's when he was a child, then mine and now hers.

It was also my first attempt at refinishing furniture (so it leaves a lot to be desired).  You may see a new and improved version sometime this summer.

At least we're not at boy-band posters and instagram covered walls…

Yet.

  Have a great one!

    1. Thank you - but I still miss the little girlishness of her previous room. Breaks your heart to see them grow doesn't it?
