I'll force you to read about all of them over the next month and a bit….
but they are good traditions (I think), and they are easy and inexpensive - which all-in-all - are the best kind of traditions.
This one is "A Book A Night" and runs for the entire month of December.
Each year I take the Christmas books off of the girls bookshelves, and add a few more from the library until I have the necessary 24.
I wrap each book by itself and put it in a pile on our landing.
Each night in December, as we head up to bed, the girls choose a book to unwrap and we read it together.
Sometimes it's a favourite from their own rooms, sometimes it's a newbie from the store or library.
Now tell me, wouldn't you be a little more inclined to head up to bed if you had this to entice you up those stairs?
The girls' school runs a book program through Scholastic Canada where if you order books, the classroom will get some as well for its library.
It's a double win!
Isn't this a 'warm and fuzzy' tradition that you could incorporate?
These are the kind of memories you want for your kids right?
It truly has become an anticipated event over here.
Have a great one!
