100 Things 2 Do

  •      pick strawberries

The teachers at our school have boycotted extracurricular activities for the kids.

I won't go in to the politics of it.  I'm not even sure I understand everyone's position anyways.

What it does mean is that my girls didn't get any field trips this year (they're too young for extracurricular sports, so we weren't affected on that side of things).

They love field trips!

I mean LOVE.
They love the bus.  They love the adventure.  They love going someplace with 22 of their friends.

I was bothered that they didn't get to experience that this year...

SO,

Yesterday we played "hooky".
I also encouraged about 15 other kids to play hooky with us and go strawberry picking!

We have this amazing nursery just outside of town called Heeman's.

And Heemans' has this incredible strawberry field where you can pick your own.

AND Heeman's will even make you a sundae at the end of your picking and top it with fresh strawberries.

Wouldn't you play hooky for that?

The difference between store bought berries and pick-your-own...
These bad boys are red all the way through!

And the kids are so proud of themselves!
I do dress my children, honestly.  Today was just pajama day at school.

Yes, you see it right - she wanted to wear 4 headbands today.  Choose your battles right?

I wasn't eating this.
I was just holding it for someone.
Really.   (wink, wink)

 We absolutely will!!

Thank you Heeman's!
