Before and After - Dresser

It's been a bit since I've shown a furniture makeover.

Maybe it just feels like it - I'm craving the gratification of a "Before and After" today - so I'm including you in my "fix".

This was a dresser I picked up on Kijiji for $30.

Solid wood, dove tailed corners, beautiful lines...
But old and dated.
I took the doors off and sprayed the handles in an "oil rubbed bronze" finish.

The dresser itself was done in an antique white.

Voila!
I think the drawer pulls really make the piece.

Or maybe it's the perfect feet?

Maybe it's just the biased DIYer.

It sold immediately for $180!

The person that bought it said they were using it for a drop station in their front hallway.

Love it!

I can totally picture the centre section housing shoes and purses and the side drawers; hats and mitts.

  1. Love it! How did you make the center drawers? Were they in behind the doors?

    1. Yes, I didn't have to do any construction at all. I think this is typical of this style/age of dresser - drawers in behind the cupboard doors.
Seems like an unnecessary step to get to your underwear if you ask me? Check out my other dresser where I used the drawer as a toybox for my daughter; http://100things2do.blogspot.ca/2013/07/before-and-after-dresser.html
