Before and After - Tallboy

This was a $25 tallboy I found on Kijiji.
Doesn't look too bad from the front right?
A little outdated maybe...

but the top was another story.

I didn't get a photo of it, but there was a large crack across the top.  So much so, that the front edge of the dresser was threatening to come right off.

But the curve of the top drawer....  I had to give it a shot.

Gorilla Glue turned out to be a bad idea.  Sure, it held the top together, but it expanded so much that it left a foam path across the top.  Let me tell you - it is called Gorilla Glue for a reason - that stuff is TOUGH to sand off.

A bit of elbow grease and it turned out better than new:
Because of the crack and subsequent glue, this piece couldn't be stained.

I think the off-white with black handles turned out pretty well though.

Obviously you must be on the go all day and night as I watch all the activities you do with your children and neighbours. What a joy.

    1. You are so kind - and I'm so grateful that you follow along! I am busy, but like the saying goes "if you make your hobby your job, you'll never work a day in your life" - and I love my job!
      Thank you again… very much.
