A Rant - Commercials at the Movie Theatre?!

I need to publicly address a grievance I have with Famous Players/Cineplex Odeon/Silvercity Masonville...
(I do know that all theatres do this, this is just the one that triggered me)

I went the movies last night with some friends.

We arrived early, got our treats and seats and patiently waited for "The Butler" to begin.

We waited,

and waited,

and waited.

Start time was supposed to be 7:15.
Commercials began shortly after 7pm and ran right up to 7:30.

There were even commercials between the "Coming Attractions" previews.

Okay, the 'Suzy Seatkicker' I can understand.  That's for the benefit of the audience, but I didn't pay to learn about ordering tickets online, or the latest hybrid car from Kia, or to have a cartoon cow jump out and moo at me and on, and on, and on...

What is the point of going to the theatre if I'm forced to sit through what seems like endless commercials?

Commercials folks, not previews.

Isn't it reasonable to expect that the almost $40 I spent on admission and snacks entitles me to a commercial-free experience?

I pay less than that for my PVR rental and I fast forward through 3 minutes of commercials... this was almost 30 minutes of ads and we were a captive audience.

Silvercity Masonville, I welcome your explanation as to why this extra income is needed.

Why you deem it necessary to subject your patrons to this nuisance.

Friends, Family, Followers, go my Facebook page and 'like' this post if you agree with me.

Maybe if we get enough numbers we can get this nonsense to stop.

  Have a great one!
